Background and Genesis of TCSCB

The Christian Science Community Board (TCSCB) is the outcome of the evolution of technology applied to communication by a group in individuals all having a love for Christian Science.

In the early years of the Internet, not so long ago really, the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston USA developed a public bulletin board. Its purpose was to enable participants to discuss spiritual solutions to current community and world problems.

When the bulletin board, called "Spirit Net", was discontinued, individuals joined together on an email "list serve" to continue the discussions. Over time this email list grew to include more than 100 members.

Some found the challenge of managing the quantity of email generated a burden. Some sought means to divide the email flow into more specialized subjects and topics. Some sought ways to communicate in "chat rooms". Still others desired a way to retain, organize and provide search capability to facilitate later use of the growing information resources.

Seeking to meet all these desires, Logos Internet & Intranet is providing world-class group-project and conferencing software. It is used by Fortune 100 companies for all manner of collaborative projects. And colleges and universities throughout the world use this conferencing tool to provide distance-learning courses.

Logos is pleased to provide TCSCB to subscribers and also is available to assist any informal group, association or organization with a similar communication tool.
